Each year The Windsor Essex Catholic School Board surveys a different stake-holder group within the board. This year there is an on-line survey for parents to complete.
The purpose of this school climate survey is to learn more about 4 closely related issues: (1) equity and inclusive education; (2) bullying/harassment among students at your child’s school; (3) attitudes towards student achievement and; (4) faith formation.
Your answers to this survey will help make schools more welcoming and safer for all students.

Congratulations to the Adan, Layla, Alexis, Karsen and Jack for their spectacular colouring skills.
The whole school enjoyed the event and we had many entries. Special thanks to our CSAC members for organizing the fun seasonal event!
Thank-you to the efforts of our Sacred Heart School Families we have recently added some new learning tools for our students. We purchased 28 computers and a variety of levelled reading material to support the PALS program and student literacy achievement.
Each classroom has been updated with new computers. Students are using these tools to investigate, explore and inquire about the Ontario Curriculum.
The staff and students at Sacred Heart School have been focused on our Lenten journey. Through weekly themes concentrating on the Corporal Acts of Mercy, classroom discussions and a partnership with Father Tom we have worked diligently to prepare for the celebration of Easter.
Congratulations to 7-year old Kamilla from Sacred Heart Catholic Elementary School. She's the winner of the Name the Mascot Contest for Adventure Bay Family Water Park Presented by WFCU, thanks to her winning entry of Youcan the Toucan!
Kamilla herself best summed up the new name on her entry form explaining, "Youcan swims, Youcan slides, Youcan floats and Youcan has fun and YOU CAN TOO!"
Kamilla's entry was chosen out of 200 submissions.
As the grand prize winner, Kamilla recieves a one-year pass to Adventure Bay, and she was treated to a free Subway lunch with her class at Sacred Heart (with a grateful Youcan in attendance as well).
French Week took place from March 7-11th. The students at Sacred Heart School celebrated with a variety of cultural activities. Some of the week long festivities included cultural art with Mardi Gras masks and Pointillism art, a French cafe serving crepes and croissants, french bingo and cultural dancing.
All grades participated in the fun. A surprise visit from the LaSalle Vipers was a huge hit with the students. Players Connor Rosaasen and Liam McDougall joined the Sacred Heart student body for the morning of cultural dancing.
On Tuesday, March 2nd, the Sacred Heart Chess Team travelled to the Ciociaro Club of Windsor to compete in the annual Chess Challenge. Many schools from across Windsor and Essex County were represented by students from Grade 8 down to Grade 2. Our school team had a good showing with multiple wins by many of our competitors. Julian and Jack took home medals, providing them the opportunity to compete again this year in the Provincial challenge. Great job team!
Ms. Donofrio's Gr.4/5 students enjoyed their field trip to Zehr's Great Food. As part of their Healthy Living unit, they learned about using the Guiding Stars points system towards making nutritious food choices. After their tour, they enjoyed making Chicken Calzones and Green Frog Smoothies in their cooking class! As you can see below, they even earned a chef's hat for doing such a great job!
